A MESSAGE FROM TRAIL MASTER STEVE FRANK

To All Toads,

Welcome back to snowmobiling for the 2009-2010 season. We are all looking forward to a fun, safe and snow filled season. To that point, there is much work to be done. As the trailmaster, I am excited to get started so we may all make the most of our trails this year. Our focus is always on fun and safety, and this year with our new full sized groomer we all look forward to the best season ever. We have made great progress over the past few years by expanding our trails, and building 6 bridges, to make things more family friendly. The membership turnout for trail work has been great, but we seem to lack for people during the last few weeks before the season opens. Often times we can not get to many areas until the last minute due to hunting season and our land owner concerns. This year we need to have people from the beginning of the trail work process right through to the end. Please look to the club’s website for work schedules and sign up at the meetings to be called via our phone tree. I encourage everyone to show up and help and see how much fun we have. I also ask everyone to e-mail suggestions between the September & October meetings, to the club’s e-mail address, as your input will allow us make the most of our time and to enjoy ourselves during the process.

Steven Frank

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

All Toads,

Just so that everyone knows, our 10th annual (can you believe it?) Chicken BBQ is Sunday August 16. As always, we NEED YOUR HELP!!!! The BBQ will once again be held at the Nedrow Sportsmen’s Club on Rte 20. from 12:00 to 6:00 or whenever the chicken runs out. This year we will cook 382 halves.

We need people to cook, serve and sell stuff. We need help with EVERYTHING! So, PLEASE, PLEASE call Dan Bilow at 492-9183 or Tim Taylor at 446-4881 or 447-2070 to volunteer your much needed services. It WILL be a lot of fun! If you can’t help cook, serve or sell, AT LEAST come and buy a dinner to support YOUR CLUB!  We also need doorprizes, so if you can donate anything or maybe know someone who will, please let us know.

Don’t forget our Golf Tournament on Sunday Sept. 13th at Orchard Vali Golf Course. It is $75.00 a person including a steak dinner, food at the turn, prizes, and a WHOLE BUNCH OF FUN! The Tee Time is noon. Call Tom Andrews at 468-6064 or Tim Taylor at 446-4881 or 447-2070 to reserve your (or your foursome’s) spot. The golf fees must be paid by Chicken BBQ time and we will be taking fees at the BBQ.

We also encourage everybody to register your sled EARLY this year. Our trailfund is based on the number of sleds registered by Dec. 1st. So the the more sleds registered by then, the more money for us in the fund. Also please renew your club membership EARLY. We will have a membership table at the BBQ, or you can register online at www.nyssnowassoc.org or you can mail it to The Toads, P.O.Box 6045 Syracuse N.Y.13217-6045.

SEE YOU SOON!!!

P.S. Don’t forget our first meeting is Wed. Sept. 2 at Orchard Vali at 7:30 pm.
